In its effort to provide quality healthcare to Indian service personnel and their families, the Union government has announced plans to start Ayurvedic centres at Military hospitals and Cantonments. An MoU has been signed between the Defence and Ayush ministries to take forward this visionary initiative. This will provide Ayurveda treatments at 37 cantonments and 12 Armed Forces Medical Services hospitals from May 1, 2021.
As per the government’s update, this will first be available at Agra, Dalhousie, Jhansi, Jammu, Jalandhar as well as at facilities such as Base Hospital in Delhi. Itoozhi Ayurveda, as a pioneer participant in this effort to bring the goodness of Ayurveda to India’s fighting forces, fully endorses and supports this initiative of bringing Ayurveda for Indian Defence Services.
Itoozhi Ayurveda‘s exclusive Ayurveda Treatment Centre of the Indian Navy, that opened its doors in 2010 at the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, truly understands the far-reaching benefits of this initiative. It is heartening to note that Ayurveda will now reach the entire Armed Forces community of the nation through a well-organised network of treatment centres across the country.
For Itoozhi Ayurveda, who have been serving the sentinels of the seas since the past decade, this also is a watershed moment. We feel immensely proud to have been the decisive instrument, the original Ayurveda pilot program, whose evaluation of its efficacy has now brought about this initiative that will positively impact the health of India’s forces.
Our Ayurveda Clinic & Treatment Centre has helped us to understand the rigors and requirements of service personnel. This, in turn, have allowed us to tailor treatments for service personnel and their families. Presently, we are all geared up to enhance our services to other locations as well and help in serving those who protect our motherland.
We remain eternally thankful for the special invitation extended to us by the Union government, to attend the Global Ayush Investment and Innovation Summit held at Gandhinagar, Gujarat. This has helped us to understand the government’s vision and be part of this noble initiative.
