Cervical spondylosis, known as Viswachi in Ayurveda, is a disease which exhibits weakness or sensational disturbances of the movements of the hand. When this disease presents with severe pain it is referred to as Khallwe. According to Susrutha samhita, this disease can occur in two types- One is with Vata predominance and secondly Vata-kapha predominance. In vata predominance pain will be more and in Vata-kapha predominance along with pain, numbness, weakness and loss of appetite will be present. The pain in the disease depends upon the area of disc protrusion.
