Itoozhi Ayurveda has always been committed to the cause of the importance of Nature and its conservation, and have always of the belief that Conserving Nature is Conserving Humanity.
Over and above our life’s mission of healing through the goodness of Ayurveda, there has been a series of concerted initiatives that have been actively furthuring our mission through its encouraging effects in the local community through the years. The establishment and maintenance of the Uppod Kannan Memorial Herbal Park, our enthusiastic participation in the Harita Nidhi Project have been a few of such initiatives that have been closely associated with helping conserve this treasure house that we call home.
Community Outreach through KudumbaShree
Starting today, June 5, the World Environment Day 2014, we intend to take the spirit of Vrukshayurveda ( the Science of Plant life that forms the core of Ayurveda ) furthur by involving the local community in a more direct and effective manner, through the Kudumbashree units at our Panchayath level.
What is Kudumbashree : An Overview
Through concerted community action, the Itoozhi Ayurveda Foundation aims to:
- spread the importance of “coming back to Nature”
- awareness of the powerful healing properties of medicinal herbs that are a part of our environment,
- encourage use of healthier alternatives in eating habits that are essentially cheaper
- encourage interested community members to begin herbal cultivation
We hope this concerted action plan, with an sustained effort and teamwork, will surely address and achieve positive impacts in all the three critical components that Kudumbashree is built on – micro credit, entrepreneurship and empowerment.
We look forward to your continued support as always.
