Research scholar Dr. Yadukrishna of Itoozhi Ayurveda Nursing Home was awarded for the best research document at the World Ayurveda Congress, held in Kolkata, from 1st December to 4th December 2016. The award was presented for a paper on Importance of Ayurveda in public health. A scientific research on distribution and impact of Ousadha Kanji (herbal rice porridge) served in several schools in Kannur district of Kerala was undertaken and thoroughly researched. The research team was led by the medical team of Itoozhi Ayurveda Foundation.
Dr. Yadukrishna, hails from Thrissur district and is currently undergoing guidance under Ayurveda guru Dr. I. Bhavadasan of Itoozhi Ayurveda Nursing Home. The research team found that herbal porridge was instrumental in the overall physical & mental development of school children as well as increasing immunity. The panel at the congress, headed by eminent medical experts, remarked that the rice porridge scheme was worthy of emulation across the country and that they would recommend the same.
